Strong winds and gusts can knock down branches and damage property. Power can also be disrupted with objects falling on powerlines.

Much colder to begin the week as a longwave will send a strong cold front into the region. This will drop temps from near 80s over the weekend to the mid and upper 60s. Monday’s cold front stalls in the Cascades until this afternoon and then it covers Eastern Washington and Oregon. Lows tonight will drop into the upper 30s and low 40s. This longwave will close off and become a deeper low that will continue to deepen over the next couple days through the middle of the week.

Wednesday the newly formed closed low pushes east and high pressure drops in from the north. This will keep us sunny and slowly warming up to the low 70s by the weekend. Overnight temps will still be chilly in the mid and low 30s. A light breeze will persist all week until Friday night when we return to more active weather.

A negatively tilted longwave will point to the PNW this weekend to bring in some cloudy skies and a slight breeze. The cold air aloft could lead to some instability this weekend, but no thunderstorm activity is expected at this time.
