RICHLAND, Wash. -One person was killed and four others were injured in a head-on crash on SR 240 near Duportail Street on the night of April 11 that closed the eastbound lanes for over an hour.

A car going westbound in the eastbound lane hit another car head-on near milepost 33 around 9:16 p.m., according to the WSP.

The driver going the wrong way, identified as Ron Lusk, 60, of Kennewick, died from his injuries at Kadlec. His next-of-kin was notified by hospital staff.

According to the WSP, the four people in the car Lusk hit, including two juveniles, were transported to local hospitals for their injuries.

UPDATE 10:30 p.m.

According to the Richland Police Department, SR 240 has been reopened.

One eastbound lane is reportedly still closed while crews finish their investigation.
